Genney Adair's relationship with THE DAILY is indirect.
She's 3, not old enough to read the news, but young enough to want to sit in her daddy's lap while he reads the paper.
Her mother, Heather Adair, says the family gets a paper every morning, delivered to their Moulton home, and they read it every day. The adults, anyway.
Heather saw a notice asking readers to send in photos for the "Tennessee Valley Snapshots" sections, a five-day series that starts in today's
"I thought, 'Hey. That's the perfect opportunity to get my kids' pictures in the paper,' " she said.
In the sections this week, readers can find pictures of Genney as well as Heather and Jason Adair's other daughter, Mary-Frances, 6.
Daily themes of "Tennessee Valley Snapshots" are:
Wednesday, Faith and Service
Thursday, Recreation and Leisure
The intent is to illustrate how people live in the Valley through the memories they capture on film.
Some pictures are of recent family vacations, and others are tintypes of ancestors who settled this land. Some readers sent in school pictures from the 1930s or 1950s. Many photos are of children and pets.
In the space available, the staff tried to use at least one photo from everyone who sent a usable one.
Some DAILY staff photos were added to broaden the representation and illustrate the daily themes.
