Pharmacist to speak on drug plans at library

Decatur Public Library Director Sandy Sherman said pharmacist Steve Sandlin is volunteering his time for four different sessions at the library to help Medicaid and Medicare clients sort out prescription drug plans.

"The government will assign clients who are on both programs a prescription drug benefit if they don't reach a decision by Jan. 1," Sherman said. "Everyone else has until May 15. We're inviting all interested persons to attend."

Sherman said Sandlin, who owns Payless Pharmacy, will assist clients in determining which plan best suits their needs.

Beginning Wednesday, he will be at the library for three consecutive Wednesdays from 1 to 5 p.m., through Dec. 28. He also will be available at the library Sunday afternoon from 2 to 5.
