Traffic stop on Alabama 67 leads to drug bust, 2 arrests

Deputies learned a man was wanted and his passenger was carrying drugs after pulling them over at Hulaco for having a switched tag on their vehicle, Morgan County Sheriff Greg Bartlett said Friday. The traffic stop took place on Alabama 67 at Ryan Loop.

After finding out about active felony warrants from Cullman County against the driver, Randy Snell, deputies searched the vehicle, finding methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Bartlett said. Age and address for Snell were not immediately available.

Deputies arrested the passenger, Christel McClellan, 32, of Seven Bark Lane, Oneonta, and charged her with possession of meth, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Morgan County Jail released McClellan on Thursday on $1,600 bond.

Snell may also face charges for allegedly possessing meth, but he was first transported to face charges in Cullman County, Bartlett said.
